Originally organized as The Underground Superfest, Paint Louis started back in 1997. After a rocky start and 5 years of threats, the city shut it down. A new team organized a better structure and has been delivering an unprecedented and uninterrupted event since 2013. Since 2022 it has provided free Hiphop shows, National acts, Dance competitions, MC battles, DJ showcases, and of course two miles of bare wall that gets decorated annually by some of today (and yesterday’s) top graffiti artists from around the world. Come visit the wall in person every Labor Day weekend. And remember if you can't make it grab a magazine and keep the whole wall to yourself.

Paint Louis Magazine was created in 2025. Starting with wanting to put together an image of the entire 2024 wall the originators came back with a magazine saying “this deserves to be documented”. Paint Louis Magazine was created in 2025. Starting with wanting to put together an image of the entire 2024 wall the originators came back with a magazine saying “this deserves to be documented”. Since we are no longer blessing walls we decided to use our photography to help the culture. In the spirit of old school zines we decided to print hard copies and go analog! It’s difficult to document something that is anonymous. However, if we don’t who will? So our mission is to document the entire wall. In order. Every year.

Our team is made up of volunteers working hard to preserve images of the entire wall, every year. We’re mostly ex-graffiti writers paying homage to a culture we grew up in. We’re going to constantly try to legitimize the skill of graffiti art in new ways to help the scene in any way we can. We’re currently working with brands to try to ge
Our team is made up of volunteers working hard to preserve images of the entire wall, every year. We’re mostly ex-graffiti writers paying homage to a culture we grew up in. We’re going to constantly try to legitimize the skill of graffiti art in new ways to help the scene in any way we can. We’re currently working with brands to try to get artists paid by drawing personalized organic advertising. This will allow every 2 page production in the magazine to be a 2 page spread instead of being on opposite sides of a single page. Artists can message us for more specific info.

That was the pre-written script by go daddy but it's pretty spot on so we kept it. We just want to add that, we will never show faces in our magazine or on our socials without their personal consent. So if you send in photos know that even if you don't, we will cover your face if you don't specify otherwise.
